Joke Silva Celebrates Husband Olu Jacobs At 75

Veteran actor, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs popularly known as Olu Jacobs on Tuesday marked his 75th Birthday.

His wife, Joke Silva took to Instagram where she eulogised him.

Born to parents from Egba Alake in Ogun State, Olu Jacobs spent his childhood in Kano State where the inspiration to be an actor began after attending a concert by Hubert Ogunde at the colonial hotel in Kano.

Afterwards, he travelled to England where he got trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

The legendary actor has starred in over 120 Nollywood films as well as British Television series and is considered one of Nigeria’s most talented actors, alongside his wife Joke.

The actor has won several awards including Best Actor in a Leading Role for the African Movie Academy Award in 2007.

He was also honored with the Industry Merit Award for outstanding achievements in acting at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
